It was announced a few days ago that all preschool staff in Singapore have to go for the COVID19 swab test. The sudden announcement threw us off track. Suddenly our chat groups are bombarded with videos and images of swab test, questions about how many nostrils will be violated, eh are we doing it the same timing yay I can see you, and creative imagination about where the shuttle buses will bring us to. We were/are terrified and nervous so we scoured the internet for more information but all we found was a video about the 1 hour long shuttle bus wait and a video of a doctor taking selfies at the venue of the swab test. We had so many questions but they went unanswered. There was not a place where we could get proper clarification. We only had each other to share information about the swab test. We also assured our fellow preschool teachers on social media (you know who you are!) that it was bearable and that there was nothing to be afraid of. We sucked it up like champions and cheered one another on. This community of SG preschool teachers is so damn awesome.
