#INA, Ezhimala witnessed a spectacular display of athleticism, strength, agility and grit during Inter Squadron Boxing Championship for #AutumnTerm 2023. The championship, held on 19 Aug 2023, featured intense competition among 66 cadets from all six Squadrons. #Daredevil Squadron emerged triumphant, earning the prestigious Inter Squadron Boxing Championship trophy. VAdm Puneet K Bahl, Commandant of INA, presided over the event and presented trophy to the victorious Squadron. #INSVagir, an #IndianNavy #submarine, is on an extended-range deployment. The deployment commenced in Jun 2023 and Vagir will reach #Fremantle, #Australia on 20 Aug 2023. The submarine, which is Indian Navy’s fifth #Kalvari class submarine, was commissioned into the Indian Navy in Jan 2023 and is based in #Mumbai. During her stay in #Australia, INS Vagir will participate in various exercises with #RoyalAustralianNavy (RAN) units on the West Coast of Australia. Concurrently, on the East coast of Australia, Indian Naval ships and aircraft are involved in Exercise #MALABAR23 from 11-21 Aug 2023 and #AUSINDEX23 from 22-24 Aug 2023. During the ongoing deployment, basic, intermediate and advanced-level Anti-Submarine exercises are scheduled. In addition, RAN submarine and Indian Naval #P8i aircraft are scheduled to exercise with INS Vagir. This deployment will further augment the cooperation and synergy between IN and RAN. The ongoing deployment is a testament to the reach and sustenance of IN submarines. The extended range deployment is the maiden deployment by an IN submarine to Australia and showcases the capability and professional acumen of IN to undertake sustained operations at extended ranges from the base port for prolonged durations. The 13th AGM of Veteran Sailors' Forum (VSF) #Kochi Charter was held at #Sagarika, #NavalBase #Kochi on 18 Aug 2023. RAdm J Singh, #COS, #SNC chaired the meeting as Patron. Capt T Ranjith Sundaran, Secretary VSF(K) presented the activities and milestones of VSF(K) which was followed by discussions on old and new agenda points. The event witnessed felicitation of five octogenarians, who had attained the age of 80 years, with the traditional "Ponnada". #ECHS and #PCDA also presented the latest intiatives and policies during the occasion. In addition, ECHS helpdesk and virtual helpdesks of Naval Pension Office was also set up at the venue to address the issues of veterans. The AGM culminated with lunch with all attendees. #POP of maiden #Agniveer course comprising 492 trainees including 77 women Agniveers was conducted at #NIAT on 19 Aug 2023. The POP was reviewed by Commodore R Rajesh, Director, NIAT. The Agniveers underwent 16 weeks of intensive training in #aeronautical subjects and practical training on various aircraft operated by the #IndianNavy. The trainees were administrated the traditional "Aircraft Tradesman Oath" during the parade. Agniveers excelling in academics and extracurricular activities were awarded trophies and certificates. Pankaj Sharma AVR (AE) and Priyanka Gandhi AVR (AL) were adjudged as Best All Rounder- Man and Woman Agniveer respectively. The first batch of #Agniveer Trainees of electrical branch passed out from #INSValsura on 18 Aug 2023 on completion of 16 weeks of professional training. The course comprised 415 Agniveers including 40 women Agniveers. The course underwent a comprehensive training in the field of electrical, electronics, weapons and sensors including hands on training. The curriculum was designed to nurture holistic growth, blending intellectual pursuits with practical skills required onboard. Regular engagement in physical and outdoor activities was also integrated to ensure all round development. RAdm Upal Kundu, #CSO(Training) reviewed #POP and Valedictory function as Chief Guest. He congratulated the trainees for successfully completing the course and adviced them to keep abreast with the latest developments in marine technology. Adm Ramnath Trophy for 'Best All-round Agniveer (Men) was awarded to Manjeet, AVR (P) and 'Best All-round Agniveer (Women) was awarded to Madhumala Kumari, AVR(P). Maiden batch of 261 #Agniveers comprising 20 women trainees successfully completed 16 weeks of rigorous training at #INSShivaji on 19 Aug 2023. The batch included 10 trainees from #IndianCoastGuard and six trainees from friendly foreign countries. During this professional training, the trainees were taken through organised curriculum of academics, sports, parade and extra-curricular activities. They were provided with classroom and practical training on various engineering equipment, Fire fighting & damage control, small arms handling & firing. Awards were presented to meritorious Agniveers, which included Himanshu Banga, AVR (ME), for first in order of merit, Gursewak Singh, AVR (ME) for best all-rounder (men) & Asmita K Chavan, AVR (ME) for best all-rounder (women). The course completion ceremony also saw interaction of Agniveers with Smt Tejaswi Satpute, IPS, DCP HQ II, Mumbai Police who motivated them on their future endeavours. #SNC #HarKaamDeshKeNaam

The passing out ceremony of maiden batch of #Agniveers was held at School for Naval Airmen, #Kochi on 18 Aug 2023. A total of 255 Agniveers including 29 women trainees successfully completed the course. Cmde K Sri Vatsa, Commanding Officer, #INSGaruda was Chief Guest for the event and felicitated the award winners. In addition to professional training, the trainees participated in various sports championship, cross country and co-curricular activities. Cmde Sandeep Sabnis took over as Commodore Superintendent, #NAY(Kochi) from Cmde Yogesh Pandey at #Kochi on 18 Aug 2023. His professional career includes appointments as Air Engineer Officer #INAS310, Staff Instructor at #NIAT, Training Officer(Cadets) at #INSShivaji and Station Air Engineer Officer, #INSDega. He has also served as Engineering Officer of frontline warships, #INSKora and #INSDeepak. He has held various staff appointments at #HQNA, #HQWNC and at #IHQ MoD(N) as Principal Director #DAPP. Before taking over as Commodore Superintendent, NAY(K), he held appointment of Director, #NIAT. ​The outgoing Commodore Superintendent, NAY(K) will be taking over as Deputy Director General, #ProjectSeabird at IHQ MoD(N) in #NewDelhi. #SNC #HarKaamDeshKeNaam

As part of #GoI initiative #PuneetSagarAbhiyaan, #indiannavy conducted Coastal Cleanup activities on 1 Aug 2023 at various parts in #Visakhapatnam. More than 750 Service and Defence Civilians from #ENC participated. The area covered for clean up included #Yarada, #RamKrishna, #Jalaripeta, #Thotlakonda, #VudaPark to #EastPointLight beaches. ️The aim of the cleanup activities is to create awareness amongst the local communities on clean seas for safe seas. Other water bodies in the city including #Meghadripeta River Channel, #YardEstate and Harbour waters inside #NavalDockyard were too cleaned up. Approx 1100 Kg of non-biodegradable wastes were collected and disposed off safely. #HarKaamDeshKeNaam
