LEGO custom Venom from #VenomLetThereBeCarnage • The base of this figure was entirely 3D printed. The head features 2 interchangeable jaws as well as a tongue that attaches with magnets. - • For accessories, I included a blade hand and several tentacles inspired by the @hottoyscollectibles figure. For the tentacles, I covered metal wires with heat shrink tubing. With some heat from a hairdryer, the tube shrinks and forms tightly around the wire, creating a symbiote look and a full range of articulation. - • The entire fig has a sculpted skin texture derived from a shopping bag I got years ago. - - Lastly, I gave the fig a semi-gloss finish to simulate the “wet-look” he has in the movie. - • Bosco suit Spidey is courtesy of @anon_figs - • Leave your thoughts down below. LEGO custom Doctor Octopus from #SpiderMan2 • Starting off, these amazing mechanical arms are from @natesminifigs . They are fully articulated, each arm link having its own ball joint. All I did was modify the design a bit and design 3 different claw arms for various versatilities. The most notable one being the grabbing claw which can grip a head and torso. Each claw arm also has an anti-stud to connect various LEGO elements onto. Lastly, I painted them using a Molotow Liquid Chrome pen and added a gloss black wash. Again, huge thanks to @natesminifigs for allowing me to mod the design and print them out. - • The trench coats and sleeves are cut from fabric. My favorite part has to be the weathering and various highlights I added. - • The arms are connected using ball joints. - • The rest of the figure was fully painted. I used a Harry Potter hair inspired by @mclovin1309 ‘s Doc Ock. LEGO custom Omega from Star Wars #TheBadBatch • First off, I want to thank @97legomaniac_ for inspiring this project after he designed Omega’s energy bow for his own Bad Batch minifigs. I had the idea to make it functional like an actual bow, and after a month of planning, I came up with a design that should work, theoretically. - • I remodeled Yale’s design in Blender, making sure the bow wouldn’t snap and the string wouldn’t come loose when it was stretched. I made a notch at each end of the bow where I could hot glue a transparent elastic cord. The arrow was a heavily sanded trans-pink magic wand piece. Once all the pieces were glued together, I painted it with Model Master gold and gave the string a pink wash to maintain its transparent nature. - • The figure itself uses an electrical tape waist cape and a 3D printed hairpiece. LEGO custom Soundwave and Ravage from #BumblebeeMovie • To start off, I want to give a huge shout out to @dylanallthemost for inspiring this project. He kickstarted this idea of using flashlight keychain figures to make Transformers figs back in 2018. Definitely check out his work if you haven’t! - • I based the scaling off Dylan’s Optimus Prime figure. The legs, arms and width of the upper torso were extended. - • The upper torso was 3D printed. I incorporated a magnetic hinge system to allow for easy access into the chest. The window is cut from plastic packaging then painted. - • Everything else was sculpted and cut from rubber and plastic film. The turret is 3D printed and can can articulate. - • Ravage has to be my favorite part to make. He’s 3D printed and can fit inside Soundwave’s torso. I based the folding mechanism off LEGO’s battle droids and it ended up near-perfect to the transformation in the movie. - • Leave your thoughts down below. LEGO custom Sam Wilson Captain America from #FalconAndWinterSoldier • Starting off, huge props to @renderminifig for designing these wings and allowing me to use them for this figure. I made several modifications to accommodate magnets, then 3D printed it. The mesh pattern on the tips was cut from plastic table cloth. Both the jetpack and back torso contain magnets to hold the wings in place. I spray painted the parts with Valspar metallic silver. - • For the head piece, I drew inspiration from @_romandoesinsta_ ‘s design. I sliced the bottom half of a Finn hairpiece then glued a transparent red plastic film. - • Torso, shoulder pads, and knee pads were sculpted. Other 3D elements were 3D printed and cut from electrical tape. - • Shield was 3D modeled and printed by me. I sliced the handle off a LEGO brown shield and attached a magnet onto it that way the shield can attach onto the jetpack and handle. - • One last addition was a 3D printed Redwing that attaches on via a plastic film. • Leave your thoughts down below. He designed the sniper to split into 2 pieces and attach onto the backpack, inspired by Hasbro’s Black Series Crosshair. LEGO custom Steppenwolf from Zack Snyder’s #JusticeLeague • It’s been a long minute since I last posted, but I’m really proud of how this figure turned out in celebration of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. - • The base of this figure was 3D printed, including the helmet and axe. I scaled a minifigure model up to replicate the proportions of a Ninjago Articulated keychain figure. That way he stands taller than a normal minifigure but shorter than a flashlight fig. - • The armor pattern was fully sculpted. I had the luxury of sculpting the pattern once, then used Blue Stuff to mold the pattern. With this method, I’m able to cast sheets of this pattern to glue onto the figure. - • The armor was painted using a Molotow liquid chrome paint pen. I added a gloss black wash to darken the chrome silver and fill in all the crevices to emphasize the sculpt. - • Other details include the fully painted face and sculpted feet. - • Leave your thoughts down below. LEGO custom Battle Damaged Darth Vader based off of Nanobuds’s #Battlefront2 mod • This figure was made possible thanks to @forge510 who helped me make casts of my Vader sculpt from last year. - • The exposed mechanical arm was modeled and 3D printed. A droid hand attaches to the arm via magnets. The lower half of his right leg was sawed off and replaced with a sculpted robotic leg that uses magnets to simulate the knee joint. I sculpted onto the jaw piece of the helmet and added pieces from a staple to mimic the damaged wiring. - • The head was entirely painted. The majority was based off of Nanobuds’s design. Several dark red washes were applied. I also dry brushed flesh paint throughout. This same treatment was given to the rest of the exposed skin throughout the fig. - • The paint job on the suit uses various techniques brought up by @sorastro in his Vader painting guide video. The wrinkles and protruding details were painted with various shades of dark bluish-grey while the crevices were kept a matte black. I’m really happy with this detail as it helps distinguish between the incised and protruding details in the sculpt. - • Lastly, I used a @bigkidbrix Vader lightsaber and sculpted each of the black pieces at the bottom. LEGO custom Boba Fett from Ralph McQuarrie’s concept art for #EmpireStrikesBack • This figure was made to be a part of a @bobalug collaboration project between me and several other customizers. - • Starting off, I want to thank @astarbricks for providing the helmet and backpack for this figure. The visor was modified a bit and the backpack attaches to the back via magnets. - • The “tummy rocket” was a idea proposed by @lm9_productions based off of Hasbro’s concept art Boba Fett. To make it functional, I modified a LEGO spring loaded shooter and placed it inside the torso. With the use of a piece of refrigerator magnet, I was able to conceal this feature. That way there wouldn’t be a gaping hole in the front. The missile also had to be shortened to accommodate the smaller spring loaded shooter. - • The rest of the figure was sculpted. Some elements were made with electrical tape and rubber. - • The armor was painted with Model Master white then weathered with a grey wash. I decided to use a granite grey for the flight suit underneath to contrast the different materials that make up the outfit. - • Beneath the helmet, I’ve got a Jeremy Bulloch head to commemorate his role as the original Boba Fett.
