Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Sergio Garcia @2SonsMarketing

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

After my second son was born, mybeife and I really wanted to do something together so we started our first business. An online designer perfume store. In fact, it was Australia’s first. This gave me the skills required to design and build my first website. Once word got out of my newly acquired skills I found myself creating websites for many small business owners. Today my skills have evolved to helping small business owners with all aspects of their digital and social media marketing.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

We focus on helping small businesses by posting social media and digital marketing tips along with motivational quotes and from time to time we add some behind the scenes or personal pics.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s our business name! We’ve kept the 2 Sons Marketing handle/username across all our social media profiles.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Our favourite app is Canva. It makes creating eye catching, professional content easy! The first thing we do is decide what we will be sharing. Will it add value to our community? Once we have this worked out, we go through our range of background images, choose the font, add our logo to the post and ensure it is sized correctly for the particular social media platform! Each platform has different size requirements. This is very important when creating your content.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

We connect with so many great accounts on Instagram, to pick one would be very difficult, however the following (no pun intended) are definitely worth following: @GaryVee @AhrynScott, @ElevateItNow, @IdoSocialMedia and @MollyMarshall

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Posting more frequently and consistently. It sounds obvious but we get asked this question from small business all the time, and it needs to be done! There are no short cuts on Social, no secret sauce, just good old fashion work!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I really enjoy receiving DM or emails from others telling us how we have inspired, motivated or helped them with our tips on our social media. It really motivates us to continue to produce quality content that adds value.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Be You! Find your voice, act and engage as you would in person. Rememeber #SocialisHuman – there is a person on the other side of the username or handle.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

We’ve always adviced our clients to post quality over quantity. Don’t post for the sack of it! Always try to post original content, but if you do post others could content, always, always give them credit. That being said, if you own a business you should have a truck load of content to share.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The best part is the collaboration and the process of creating something exciting. Working together, making new connections and sharing new ideas.
