Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Roberta @robyincolombia

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m Roberta, an italian travel blogger and traveller, in love with Colombia and South America.
I left my beloved home town in the island Sardinia at the age of 19 when move to Rome to study at uni comunication and marketing, then I did a master in tourism management, then I start to work in a tour operator and then I realized 2 things: I wasn’t travelling (i was only organizing somebody else travel) and I wasn’t speaking a single word of english!
So I decided to go to London for a three month english course and I ended up living in the british capital for 7 years!
Three years ago during a hot british summer in a latin club in London I met a colombian guy who started to tell me how amazing was his country. That night I came back home and googled “Colombia” and from there my love for this country begun!
I started to read blogs, see pictures, get information (and yes, hanging out with that guy…) and dreaming to visit Colombia. My dream became true in January of last year. I went for a three weeks vacation and I got really inspired from the country that when I came back home I decided to quit my job as a retail manager that was making me very sad and unhappy. I got a job as waitress to pay the bills, I came back to uni and studied digital marketing and I opended my blog Incolombia.it to spread the love for Colombia in Italy and invite italians to travel without worries in Colombia.
I saved as much money as I could and in January of this year I left London and started my travel to south america, starting from Colombia!
I found so many positive vibes in this country that I ended up living in there for 6 months.
Now I am back to my parent’s home in Italy for a few months and in November I will carry on my journey through south america starting from Argentina!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My biggest passion is travelling. You can clearly see it on my Instagram account @robyincolombia where I post ispiring picts from Colombia, my travels around the world and my homecountry Sardinia. I also manage an instagram account from Colombia Travel Bloggers association where we share pictures of Colombia to ispire people to travel around the country (@colombiatravelbloggers)
As italian I love cooking and eating and I post about it sometimes.
My other passsions are zumba, dancing salsa and I love to read about law of attraction philosphy.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It comes from my blog (www.incolombia.it) and from my travel to Colombia (my friends call me Roby), that’s why robyInColombia

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I often use pixler to make collages and I use canva. To repost I always use an app call repost.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I like @seecolombiatravel and @colombiadeuna for their inspiring pictures about Colombia.
I also like @dariovignali because is a person who inspire me.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

That people can discover unknown part of the world thanks to me. For example I’ve been to a place called Quebrada Las Gachas (in Colombia) and I posted a picture in my IG and some people contacted me privately or through my blog to ask me how to get in there!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Be authentic, don’t fake it, make it real and transim emotions, not only with a picture but with an emotional description too.
To remain authentic I carry on talking about a product or experience that I have to promote in the same way I do when I’m not paid to do it. Being genuine.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Write about emotion. Don’t start speaking about the product you are promoting but speak about you so people can identify theireslves with you.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

That I can learn and discover new things that maybe I wouldn’t have know without that contact.
