Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Nicole Melody @nic_mel_

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m born and raised in a small city named Upland, part of Southern California. I enjoy being in this specific area because I am in the middle of everything, the beach, mountains, downtown Los Angeles! It is all within 30-60min away from me.
I am currently a college student at the Art Institute, I major in photography. I plan on making a successful career out of my photography, I consider myself more of a fine art photographer, I shoot, scenery, landscapes, architecture and much more! I sell prints to people who love to collect art, I am always honored to have my work hung up in people’s spaces, wether its their bedroom, living room, office etc. My focus is to grow and expand my work and hopefully be displayed in museums and also open up my own gallery.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I consider myself very adventurous, and love to try new things, wether it’s unique food places, or just capturing cool locations like the tops of clifs, great views of rooftops, or even places of worship that have amazing architecture that people may have not seen. I enjoy sharing the world from my perspective with my followers

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram name came about from my first and middle name, which is Nicole Melody, but I wanted something different so I shortened them both to the first 3 letters. Soon came "Nic Mel"

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

My favorite app to edit my photos is called vsco! I am also able to use their program on the adobe editing program called Lightroom, so I can professionally use presets when working on my photos.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I am so obsessed with gypsyone, her real name is Jenah Yamamoto, she is a travel photographer like myself, and loves to try new things. The whole vibe of her instagram is so cool, from her photos to her awesome style and tattoos. She definitely is a huge inspiration.

Also obsessed with colesprouse whats so inspiring about him is that he isn’t just in the spotlight as a famous actor but he is also making his name know as a photographer, his work is simplistic but unique at the same time, I would love to know his editing process and what he shoots with to get those perfect shots

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Sometimes you have to hop in your car and just drive, visit somewhere you haven’t been before, park your car and explore. You never know what cool things you may come across.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I feel good knowing that I can inspire someone to try something knew, or check out a awesome location that I have posted. I get all the time "where are you? " "where did you take this picture?" "You go to the coolest places!"

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Stay unique! Wether I am photographing, locations, myself or other people I remain art driven at all times! I’m picky about how I capture something, thats what makes me stand out.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

If you want to inspire and keep people interested, you must make sure you keep the flow of good quality work, it will help potential clients and followers take you seriously and treat you as a business woman/ man

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like collaborating, I like the "I help you, you help me" kind of thing, we can both help each other grow!
