Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Maria Pia de Castro @piaa1310

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m from Uruguay, a little country between Argentina and Brazil. I’m 16 years old and nowadays I’m studying English and I’m on the biology grade in high school. (Grades are different here).

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are, makeup, fashion, traveling, Music and a lot more but this are my favourites. I post different kinds of makeup and outfits I wear, places I have been to (from concerts to castings to different countries), products that i like and where to buy them.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My full name is María Pía, but all my close friends call me, "Pia" and they shout it, because of that I added an extra "A" like the "Piaa" is being shouted. The numbers are my birthday, I born the 13 of October (10) people tell me it’s the bad luck day, but I don’t believe that, so I used it as a way to know me. There is not a great history behind my Instagram name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Well, I usually take a lot of photos! Smiling, doing funny things. After that, I pick my favourite. It’s usually the one that has better lighting, and I like the background and I like the way I am. After that, sometimes I like to crop the photo or just give it a little more of light or color. But there is not a great editing behind my photos. They are posted just like i take them.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I really enojoy looking the photos of models like Kendall Jenner, Adriana Lima, Gigi Hadid. Because, I think as they are models, they know how to take a great picture! So I try to learn to do it too.
Also I love to see really funny stuff, like Lele Pons who is from Latino America, so she is a great inspiration for me.
Last but not least, I like to see the Instagram of the makeup artists, like, NikkieTutorials, MannyMua, Jeffree Star, and a lot more!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I think I would say, to wear makeup or outfits that everyone can afford. And teach people how to be fashionable in a cheaper way. So you don’t depend on having lot of money to buy for example a Gucci dress. For example I post independent brands that has beautiful clothes or makeup.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I’m gonna say the same thing I said in the last question, to teach things to the people, to say what I truly think about the products I use.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Don’t use the "perfect model" people in the world is not like that, they don’t relate with it. If brands want to maintain authenticity, they should have a variety of people in their campaigns. In this way they are going to relate to the content. And try the product.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think that quality is the most important thing in a product, it can be original which is great but if it’s not of a good quality nobody is going to try it, or recommend it.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

To give a personal opinion and feelings about a product. To have the opportunity to try them and to recommend it to your friends, family and followers
