Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Maria Eduarda Leone Bueno @dudaleone

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a 20 year old girl from Brazil, currently at the 4th year of Law School (here in Brazil it takes 5 years for you to graduate), just waiting for graduation to be able to live abroad and study what I really like, witch is fashion and photography.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are basically the things that make me happier: fashion, photography, makeup and travel. I wish I could post about all of these things but my account is more like a personal one (I’m growing!). I mostly post pictures of my favorite moments with my friends and family, but when I have the chance I always do some merchandising (I’m obsessed with it) and post photos of myself wearing or using something I love, or something I received as a gift, but the idea is always keeping it real, posting only things I like (and look good on my feed).

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is my nickname and my last name all together. It is basically how people know me, and chose it not only because everybody calls me Duda since I was born, but mostly because foreign people can’t pronounce my real name (Eduarda).

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

My photo-editing routine is a crazy thing and it depends on what I think the photo needs (more or less contrast, some color, …), but I try to keep a standard by using the same filter in the end of editing, even if it’s a little bit. My top apps are VSCO, Afterlight, and some Photoshop for little retouches (Facetune or something like that).

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Oh my God, there are so many accounts I love! I think my favorite ones are the fashion bloggers’ ones, like @chiaraferragni and @marianna_hewitt, or maybe the Brazilian ones, like @camilacoelho and @thassianaves, who post about fashion and makeup, all of it traveling and taking pictures. I mean, what else they could ask for?
Besides that, I’m obsessed with @hugogloss, who taught me a lot about following my dream of working with social media for a living. Oh, and the queen herself, @kyliejenner.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Starting from the point that the Brazilians have a certain fear / prejudice with the rent of houses when traveling, I think that one think everybody should try is the Airbnb app, witch is a trustworthy app for renting houses all around the world, which gives you the opportunity to have the experience of living, even for a short time, in another city.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part of it is definitely working with what I love the most, and being able to put on social media a thing that comes from my nature. My friends and family always came to me when talking about hints of fashion and makeup, so why not make it a pro thing? It’s the best of both worlds. People get to know you for what you do the best, and for me that’s happiness.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I guess that the brands are always searching for the most famous people to work on their campaigns, from the producer to the models/actors, and forget that sometimes you have to give a chance to the people that are starting in the business. Not only it cuts funds, but also gives a lot of authenticity to the campaign, and consequently to the brand. And it not necessarily loses quality! There are so many good professionals just waiting for their chance. So I guess the way to maintain authenticity is always looking for new people and stop trying to look like the bigger brands.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

To be an influencer is to have quality and fresh content, to stick and step up to your taste and instincts, so you’ve got to be original to be successful. In this crazy world that is Instagram, everybody can be “famous” with a simple iPhone camera, so I think that the way you edit your photos, the way you display them on your feed, the way you write your captions, everything well thought gives you credibility and can only help you on your way to succeed.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I think that the credibility that you get with partnering with brands is the best part, because people start relating you to that brand, in a way that it becomes a two-way street, the brand helps you in the same way that you help them grow.
