Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Mallory Eves @nasheves

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a 22 year old Gold Coast girl, originally from Melbourne. My family moved here when I was still a baby so Gold Coast is and always will be my home. I went to school at Varsity College, with some difficulty I managed to graduate from year 12 in 2011. I worked in high end retail for 7 years (while trying to find my passions) until I moved on into the medical field. Now I work in a well-known medical clinic treating cancer patients with natural therapies. I have never been so happy doing what I do, and I love changing other people’s lives, that is my passion…

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Recently I have managed to lose 35+kgs in a matter of 2.5 months when I decided I needed to change my lifestyle. Since then I have got a big interest in the healthy mind, body and soul. I regularly post about being outdoors, trying new restaurants and fitness related posts. Of course I have a few selfies in there and other things but my main interests would be fitness, food, travel and fashion/beauty. I have many interests!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is just my nickname (Nash) and my surname (Eves). I got the nickname Nash when I was 7 years old and I was trying out for my first Basketball team. The coach was giving everyone nicknames and because I was always the shortest and the fastest, I was named after NBA star Steve Nash. It has managed to stick with me ever since and everyone in my life knows me as Nash.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I like to try and keep my photos as natural as possible! I never "thinify" or change the shape of my body because I believe in honesty and being the most genuine person I can be, even on social media. I don’t mind using some filters through the app "Photo Wonder" but normally I just like to use the features on Instagram. I am currently in the process of changing my theme and making my instagram more eye-catching.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I follow a lot of genuine people who inspire me on a daily basis such as:
TheYoungMummy (Sophie Cachia)
Brittney Lee Saunders
Ashy Bines
Tammy Hembrow

These influencers get me excited, motivated and happy in general. I like to keep up to date with what they are up to and listen to their advice.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

weightloss tips!!! I feel like anything fitness related is huge right now. Along with the latest beauty products. At the moment the thing I’m hearing about the most is Tanning/highlighters. Alot of fake tan products are shown all over social media along with this highlighter craze going around! Girls think, the shinier the better!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I just like being able to get back what others have given to me, and thats help and advice and honesty!
People can be brutal on Social Media, but people can also be really motivating and give constructive criticism.
The favourite part of my day is knowing you have helped someone, my job revolves around caring for others and making them feel the best they can. If i can make a positive change or help someone with a difficulty in their life then I have done my job! It’s what I live for.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I believe that brands need to make their requirements more low key. As a consumer, when I see photos that are just way too over the top like having a teeth whitening kit on a tropical beach for example? That does not make me want to buy the product. I see so many influencers posting photos that have no relevance to the product. It just makes me annoyed and it looks very fake.
Being able to keep your authenticity means having influencers who are more genuine and believable when it comes to promoting products/conducting competitions.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think this goes back to the authenticity of a post. I believe it is highly important to generate your own content because that is what sets you apart from other influencers. No one want’s to see a copy cat! and the reason why I like and follow the ones I do, is because they are all different in their unique way. They all promote different brands/causes and all live different lives. Having good quality photos and originals are going to make you more interesting and help you set a style for yourself on Social Media.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

As of yet I have not partnered with anyone on Instagram but it is something I would really like to do as I am about to launch my online vlogging channel!
