Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Maggie Gravier @takethistoyourgravier

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Right now I’m adventuring around the country, working a great job at Apple, starting a Mary Kay business, taking photos, writing stories, and making new friends. My health has been rocky the past few months so I’m making big changes in my diet and physical activities! I do a lot of yoga, running, and rowing, and am looking for ways to change up my diet to be my best self.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Most of what I post on Instagram is myself, my cross stitching, and my hiking/camping adventures.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I started my Instagram account during my senior year of University, and for a long time it was just for me and my friends, but once I started focusing on my photography career I started researching media strategy and it started building up more! I still do my best to keep it about my life instead of about a specific brand or part of my life.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

IF I edit a photo, and that’s a BIG IF I use Lightroom on my MacBook Pro before posting it, or if I’m on the fly I use the VSCO app for light edits. I don’t often use any filters!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Its hard to pick one, so I’m not going to! There are sooo many influencers who inspire me, but I don’t like to post things like they do. I have my own style, "brand," and way of showing the world what I see.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

If this question is asking about something others should try in relation to posts and editing I would definitely say the VSCO app! Its one of my favorite apps of all time!

If this question is asking about something others should try in relation to pretty much anything else in the world I would say the Yoga Studio app is my favorite thing right now! They’re getting some crap right now for starting to charge users after their new update, but I say it is completely worth it! It has helped me in so many ways.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I never thought I would be an inspiration to people, or sought out to help boost a product/brandi’s audience, and it has been an amazing experience starting to build that up! It’s humbling and exciting and has helped my confidence in a lot of ways.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I’d say the biggest tip is to sound as little "sales pitch"-y as possible. Act like real people, and real people will respond. A big thing for me is getting genuine and helpful responses from brands when I need help. Most recently I needed some assistance cleaning my backpack by Topo Designs, and they were super quick and helpful with tips for getting it cleaned up!

I do my best to respond to people/brands as quickly as possible. There are so many conversations that can start out as a simple introduction that could lead to an amazing opportunity! Being humble and honest and exciting is the best way to be!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality and original content is vital in a culture that is constantly staring at computer screens and having information forced in front of them 24/7. There’s an infinite amount of STUFF so sift through, and it can be really tough to get quality content out there! As a visual person I absolutely love that visual content is making its way to the forefront, and use that as the stepping off point for original written content to go along with it.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love building relationships that matter. Brands that mean something, and that can build a lasting relationship with me means networking with other people that mean something, and other brands that can help us little people make a difference while helping them to build an audience.
