Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Lily Hall @lilyg_fit

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi there!
I am a gym manager and personal trainer from a beach town in North Carolina. I grew up as a competitive dancer and got super interested in fitness after I started college. After a couple years of experimenting with fitness and training and working on my NASM certification I decided to compete in my first NPC bikini competition. 2 years later I am prepping for my NPC figure debut and managing a local gym while competing on a competition hip hop crew!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Fitness is obviously a huge passion of mine, and dance as well.
I love the beach and being outdoors… really enjoying quality time with my loved ones and my little dog.

My instagram consists of mostly motivational content. I know I use social media platforms as my motivation and inspiration and I want to help others the way my influencers have helped me. After my experience and networking in the fitness industry, I realized people were very interested in what I had to say when I was raw and honest. I like to carry that into all of my posts.. no sugarcoating or false ideas.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

i used to be "lilyghallfitness" but eventually shortened it to lilyg_fit. Im not even sure what possessed me to do so, I just decided I needed to make it short and simple, and a little more catchy.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use aferlight and just the instagram editing. Photo quality and editing skills are both aspects I really want to work on.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love em_dunc and the quality of her photos. Sarah James is a HUGE influence on me as far as honesty and body appreciation goes. Caroline De Campos is a good friend of mine and was always a great influence to me as far as social fame and remaining true to yourself goes. Jenna fail was one of the first people who ever really inspired me to be big and tough and strong, yet feminine and sexy all at once, and katyhearn has such an awesome business mindset. I love how successful she is-in her own world- just from working hard and looking amazing.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Lipo Nourish!
Interval Nutrition makes it- and it is a life saver!
Its a non-stimulant fat burner that you drink. 4 different digestive enzymes to break down your foods, and it reduces water weight and bloating, every girls dream.
I personally drink it with my two higher carb meals and Ilove mixing it with unsweet iced tea. Twice a day and my abs have never looked better or tighter!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Helping people! I have had clients and followers come to me saying they are learning to love themselves through fitness and their new found strength, or that theyre noticing a huge difference and getting their confidence back… I live for the thank you’s. Not because I need the gratification, but because I absolutely love hearing that I was responsible for someone getting up and moving or making a positive change in their lives.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Remaining true to myself and what I believe in. I have never promoted something I didn’t personally use or personally love. I stick to my main focus: working hard and helping others along the way. I appreciate authenticity over anything else. I won’t pretend to feel a certain way just because that is what is "expected" or respected. I will express my true feelings and followers appreciate that- they like relatable. Im a real person, I like to be treated like a real person, so i want to remain a real person.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

This is something I feel very passionate about. Some of the big brands out there right now have finally come to light on their poor marketing strategies- as far as social media goes. If it isn’t original, if it isn’t personal, and it isn’t direct from the source ( the social media influencer) then it isn’t believable. It comes off as scripted and weighted. I wouldn’t ever want my followers to question the quality of my content. Especially if its from me trying to sell something.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love the networking, the relationships you build, and the knowledge you gain. I work demo booths for a nutrition company at bodybuilding shows and the amount of information I have gained just by getting involved with other companies, speaking to my colleagues and having genuine conversations with people from all different standpoints and different companies is incredible. Ive met incredible people, I have inspired others, and I have gained more knowledge by getting out there and shaking hands than I ever would sitting behind a desk and filing papers away.
