Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Lauren Witter @Lolabell

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m from Boston, Ma and I moved to Oklahoma several years ago. Since being in Oklahoma, I began working for a company, photographing + editing weddings. One week after I was hired, they hired a new videographer who just happened to end up sitting next to me in the office. It turned out he was the love of my life! Right before we got married we actually started our own company, and we are now shooting photo + video together and traveling all over the world.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Travel, weddings, diy, home decor, and fashion, health foods + juicing. Oh and we have 3 cats, so there’s plenty of pet related posts.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

my Instagram name is my nickname that my family always called me. Now I’m know by it in so many circles way beyond my family and people just call me by my username. 🙂

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I’m an avid VSCO user. I use it on my phone as well as the the vsco presets in Lightroom, on my desktop. I also love pictwo, because it allows you to do little tricks like, removing a telephone pole out of your photo, or adding a little more space to the sky in a photo. I’ve found many quick hacks using this app paired with Diptic.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love @EdenStrader. She’s my favorite photographer who inspires and sharpens me. I also love the dreamy soft vibes in @abbytohline feed. Others who inspire me in different ways are @tezzamb and @jasminedowling.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I have to say I’ve gotten sooo many compliments on a recent brand I’ve discovered called @shopazil boutique. I have really sensitive skin and their jewelry is made with so much quality, I can fall asleep wearing their earrings (which I would normally never do) and I wake up and don’t even know they’re in me. Plus their stuff is GORGEOUS!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I always have and probably always will be a sucker for ads. I’m super interested in, and open to new products and discovering my next favorite thing. I love being on the side of marketing, where I’m helping the brands BE DISCOVERED! I love capturing an item in the prettiest way and then sharing why I love it so much.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think subtly is underrated.Some People think you need to be in people’s face and loud and agressive with your marketing strategies but really, less is more. Hashtags in the main post are key. Pretty images that are being shared authentically instead of "oh I love this new product because" #ad. People want to feel like you genuinely use the product and not because you have to post about it. When they feel like it’s real, then it makes them want it too.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It’s important to create for yourself and not have to borrow ideal images from other places. Creating fresh content that is beautiful is one of the biggest reasons people log onto instagram in the first place. They want to be inspired. And when you’re the ones creating fresh, beautiful content, they will keep coming to you to see what else you’ve come up with next. Beauty is addictive to the creative eye.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Being able to portray and display a great new product and be the one who gets to figure out a new way to catch an audiences eye, and share a wonderful new product with followers, is a thrill I can’t describe. I think it goes back to my love for ads. Knowing what people want to see and creating appealing images that draw in an audience. It’s so fun for me!
