Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kaitlin @Mycat_george

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Kaitlin and I’ve had a life long cat obsession! I work with rescues and shelters by fostering when I can and raising money through sales of handmade merchandise featuring George! I was born and raised in Scranton, PA but spent my 20s in Arizona and Washington DC. I’ve moved back home close to family again, this is when I found George! He is the funniest, goofiest, sweetest and most lovable cat I’ve ever met.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love creating! Whether it be a smile, a craft or an idea. I post nothing but my cats, mainly George, and animal related things. I’m an advocate of not declawing your cats and like to raise awareness about it!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Simple, my cats name is George!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I normally just use Instagram filters, sometimes layouts from pic stitch or flipagram!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Sophie_the_model is hysterical! I love her! I also really enjoy _porkchopthecat_

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Oh gosh! I love supporting fellow instagrammers and shop frequently at etsy shops. Otherwise, I think all cat owners need to try Weruva cat food!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Getting my followers excited about something! I love promoting items I believe in and answering questions with personal experience.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Organic content is important! I understand he need to cover certain points but it makes the post less authentic when you have a scripted sentence in there.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Original context is key!! I must use Georges “voice” or people don’t respond. His language and grammar are about his personality and that’s what makes people smile.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Being introduced to new things myself! There are so many amazing brands and products on the market that people just don’t know about yet.
