Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Jennifer @Theflamingochronicles

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a life and style blogger, originally from Miami. I spent almost a decade in NYC and moved back to South Florida 3 years ago. Living in Manhattan influenced and developed my own personal style into what it is today, which happens to be a lot of black and white.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I mostly post casual looks that I style. I love experimenting with casual basics to create edgier and more polished looks. I like being a bit unconventional at times, I’ve been wearing sneakers with skirts and dresses before it was cool. Lol. I also enjoy incorporating classic men’s pieces with feminine looks, like trousers with a lace top or loafers with a full skirt. I also enjoy covering beauty/personal care items. When I find something I love, lipstick or shampoo or sunscreen I want to spread the word!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Coming back to Florida was a tough transition for me, it’s very different from NYC, and even though I’m a native Miamian, I struggled fitting into this city that I left when I was barely an adult. I decided that I needed to embrace my roots but not forget everything NYC did for the person I am today. So naturally, my alter ego is South Florida’s unofficial mascot, the flamingo. I wear my true colors proudly, and don’t fade into the background, because I am who I am… A flamingo!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I used Lightroom to edit pictures shot with my Nikon and use VSCO to keep things uniformed on Instagram

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Hard to choose, but here are a few @grasiemercedes @weworewhat @nanysklozet

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Like product wise? Or social media?

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Having a creative outlet while being a part of burgeoning community of disrupters and influencers.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think choosing influencers that fit with the brands asethitic and or mission. Good collaborations feel organic and never forced, increasing the buy in of the audience/potential consumer. On that note, I do not and will not collaborate with a brand or product I wouldn’t buy myself. Simple as that.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Consistency, and constant research on better tools and methods to help deliver quality content. Building a community of fellow bloggers/instagramers helps, I m very comfortable reaching out to some people I’ve never met for feedback and advice. It’s the only way to grow and I’m not in competition with anyone anyway.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Being a part of a mutually beneficial professional relationship. My creativity and point of view can help some one sell their product or increase their audience, which is pretty cool.
