Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Hana-li @HanaliMusic

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m an international recording artist and have been touring professionally since I was 15 years old. My style is soulful pop but I have a voice that can sing most things (other than death metal!). I started singing when I was 2 years old and never stopped. My first performance was in a red tube top and silver sequin mini skirt with a matching jacket singing Chain of Fools by the one and only Aretha Franklin. I’ve performed alongside some of the best in the biz including Chick Corea, Isaac Hayed, Edgar Winter, Doug E Fresh, David Campbell and many more.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Music is my main love and is my full time career so I post a ton about being on tour, behind the scenes at rehearsal and in the studio, concerts, etc. I’ve also been very passionate about health and fitness since I danced and rode horses as a kid and so I post about veganism and fitness as well. I’m also a spokesmodel for XXV Beauty makeup and skincare so I post about that as well.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

All of my social media platforms have the same handle – HanaliMusic. My actual name is Hana-li but you cant use hyphens in social media names so it’s just my name minus the hyphen plus music. Hence, HanaliMusic. 🙂

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I literally just use the instagram in app filters 95% of the time! Afterlight is great if I want to add a more vintage flair with light streaks or dust particles. My favorite trick is to use the brightness and contrast to get everything more pale and then use saturation to add the color back in. Really makes eyes pop! Especially in the Clarendon filter.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love different ones for my different interests. For music I’d say @madilynbailey. She seems really down to earth and always has a unique spin on covers which I really like. For makeup @ida_elina is one of my faves. Love her painted brow style! Fitness is @brookeence and I love her no BS attitude toward life.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My whole life has been about setting a good example and inspiring others. So to be able to do that through social media and share products I love and things I believe in is pretty special.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think finding influencers who are genuinely good people and promote not only your product but a good lifestyle in general is a big deal. I think we’re only as good as the example we set and how much we can help others. I like to work with brands that get that.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

You want to stand out and that can happen in a number of ways. Producing content that is true to you while still showcasing brands is important and shows that you’re for real about the product.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I’ve gotten to try new products and fall in love with them while providing value to my followers and to the brands I work with so it’s a win win win situation! I’ve made real connections with owners of companies and been able to help get the word out on some incredible products that I truly believe in.
