Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Germaine T. @angstvibes

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hey there, I’m from Singapore. An avid wild dreamer despite turning 21. The only colours you’ll find in my wardrobe are Black, White, Grey & Blue. I believe less is more and sometimes basics are all you really need in life. I’m a tuition teacher who’s going for further courses to enhance my English standards ?

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love photography albeit not really good at it. I enjoy posting shots from my travels, mini shoot projects with my friends, basically whatever floats my boat which matches my vibes at that moment.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My current Instagram name has been the 2nd one I gave myself. It resonates strongly with me when I was going through a tough time transitioning from teen-hood to pre adulthood. It was a combination of the angst, anxiousness and excitement built up for what was to come after the series of disappointments met. Many may think it’s just a name to follow the recent “vibe” trends, fake grunge etc, but it really just voices out the faintest cry if help within.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I usually use VSCO then further edit on Instagram✨

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I really love Instagrammers who have a strong passion for what they love and stand out from the usual mainstream feeds/trends. My few fave Instagrammers are @trishnarawr, @beccabeczten, @luxmondi, @nidiamarssa, @bryantlives

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Spontaneous trips. I know it sounds crazy but it really changes your outlook on life and turns the bad vibes you had into something good. Who knows, it could be an inspiration for creative expressions. ??

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I guess it’s about being able to connect with an audience who shares the same interests and being able to communicate with them on my experiences, etc.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Make an effort to have a real understanding of and connection with your users. That spark when users finally find the brand that they can connect with, is special & keeps them going back for more. Be authentic; if your brand has projected itself in a certain way, then stick to it. Don’t go about changing what your brand’s known for just because you want to keep up with trends.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Be true, be you. Nobody can steal what’s yours or what you have in you. Why imitate when you can create?

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Getting to know the brands more than just hearsay / commercials. Being able to have a personal experience & hands on with their products and share it with others on a more personal level.
