Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Evelien @eefexplores

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am originally from Amsterdam (The Netherlands) but on the road for 6 months now. I started my travels in South-East Asia, and I’m currently in Brisbane, Australia. I’m exploring this gorgeous country whilst capturing my adventures in blogs and instagram pics.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are traveling. All the images I post on instagram are travel related, and all photos are taken by me (unless I’m in the photo). Doing this I hope to inspire people to take on the big challenge to start traveling themselves, or for those who aren’t as fortunate to travel, I hope I can bring them a small travel experience on their phones.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I wanted an instagram name which includes my own name (Eef is short for Evelien), and something which makes clear for what I stand for. Add a nice alliteration to that and: tadaaa – Eef Explores was born! 🙂

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I only use Camera + to edit my photos. I found that Camera+ has everything I need, and to bring out that little bit extra in my images. I try to edit the pictures as little as possible, as I believe that #nofilter is always the best 🙂

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I really love what traveltomtom is doing right now. He went from a small blogger/instagrammer to a big, well-known travelblogger, with followers from all over the world. Amazing!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I’d like to think of it not so much as an influencer, but more as someone who inspires people 🙂 I never thought that at nearly 30 years old I would be able to travel the world on my own and look at me, here I am! I absolutely love it to inspire people with my photos and stories.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think it’s very important to stay true to yourself. Don’t use too many filters, don’t make things look better than they seem – be real. That’s key!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Really important! There’s millions of companies out there, and there’s millions of Instagrammers out there. As a digital marketer (my profession back home) I know how hard it is to stay original, and I also know how extremely important it is. My advice would be to look around to see what others are doing, but at the same time trying to stay true to yourself and your brand.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I think it’s a wonderful win-win! They get a great, personal advertisement directly targeted at a super relevant audience, and I get something to post about 🙂 What else could we both wish for?
