Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Brodie james @Brodie.m.james

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi all, my name is Brodie James and I am a dancer with The Australian Ballet Company. I recently was promoted to the rank of Coryphee at the end of 2016 following my nomination for the 2016 Telstra Ballet Dancer of the Year Award which also saw my debut in the role title role Of Albrecth in Giselle on The Australian Ballet’s Regional Tour.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post a lot about my job as a professional ballet dancer which includes a range of things from behind the scenes both on and off stage, my travels with work(international and nationally), events that I attend as well as male fashion interests.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s a combination of my name and I chose it because it’s looks more professional! It’s become clear to me how important it is to develop an online identity and public profile so I thought the more professional, the better.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I try not to use photo editing apps too much as I love posting content that is as close to an authentic representation as possible. But if I need to ‘snapseed’ and ‘PS express’ are my go to apps.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I follow a lot of international dancers on Instagram who inspire me and my content I produce, both male and female. It’s too hard just to pick one! Anyone who’s interests are the arts really like fashion brands and magazines, artists, actors. People who’s passion really shines through in their public profile.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I’m obsessed with plants! Everyone should try their hand at gardening, even if it’s just a small pot plant or herb garden. Plants really brighten up the room or work space.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Knowing that your followers follow you for a reason, they enjoy what you produce and upload online. I always hope my posts have a positive outcome or influence on whoever sees it.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Consistency. Social media it’s self already filters s brands authenticity, so the content is never a 100% self represented. I think by having a reacurrung theme with what you post really helps to conjure up the image you wish the public to see.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Post what makes you happy and remember whatever you post online will be there forever. That’s whole idea behind media platforms this generation, SOCIAL and ONLINE COMMUNICATION.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Discovering up and comings goods that are just starting out. I like to think of them as a hidden gem that you just need to share with the world, spread the love I always say.
