Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Bora @_brktr_

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I come from Tirana, Albania and grew up in Abu Dhabu&Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Currently I’ve been living for three years in Madrid, Spain studying Psychology and Communications. Alongside I have a blog for which I have great plans and upgrading that I’ve been working for a long time to bring to fruition soon.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love writing about lifestyle, makeup and beauty, skincare and traveling. I have such love about all these things and they’re not just superficial to me but a way of living and carrying yourself. My Instagram is one of my biggest passions because to me it’s another way of blogging but mostly because to me the way I portray my thoughts, myself, the products I love is another form of art. Instagram is a creative outlet that makes people of different preferences connect, get inspired, stay informed and feel creative.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is actually not anything special because it’s the gathering of the letters of my name, last name and city where I come from. I am thinking of changing it into VenusOnFlames just like my blog because that has a big, important meaning indeed. Venus is the ruling planet of femininity, passion, beauty; Venus is the Roman goddess of love, beauty, sex, passion, fertility, desire and victory. So being the feminist that I am, believing that we women or all those things and more, I named my blog (and possibly Instagram) such: female on flames, female in power, Venus incarnated.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

My all time favorite is VSCO. Then come FaceTune which I use mostly to whiten backgrounds and smooth or diffuse things. Sometimes I use Enlight.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Instagrammers who inspire me the most are Chriselle Lim, Natalie Suarez, Natalie Liao, Lucy Rose Laucht, Caroline Receveur, Negin Mirsalehi, Lisa Smith, NotJessFashion, Jessie Khoo and such. They’re so classy, artistic and inspiring. They motivate to progress as a woman and as a creator.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Post the most quality content they can produce, not posts they don’t believe in or that they put no efforts towards. That’s when things go badly and you lose the audience. Quality of thought and process is paramount.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love mixing photography, which is art in my eyes, with showing people what products or places I’m loving. Influencing them with the best intention and creative materials. Inspiring myself while inspiring my followers.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I would say to maintain your authenticity and you do that by not robotically promoting things you don’t believe in and love because that will get translated into your Instagram photos and posts and you won’t do that well. You maintain authenticity by showing only the products that you truly believe in, thing which you truly love and explain why you love them. Also your posts should be your own they should not resemble posts of anyone else; The posts shouldn’t feel A repetition of someone else or something you have written before but there should always be something new about them there should always be something authentic about them and the audience should always feel inspired and not lied to.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Just like above, to be as authentic as you can. Don’t put post out there that lack your touch and your love and above all quality. No matter how worthy a product or place is if you don’t post quality & authentic content it loses its value and you aren’t doing it right. The quality and originality is not only important to the audience but also to yourself and also to the brands you are being partnered with because you’re doing the brands a very big disservice if the quality of your posts is bad and if there’s no authenticity, no artistry and no passion in your posts. The same for your followers; you lose their trust.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

That it gives me the opportunity to grow my content and spread the word about a product or a place or a brand that I love with the help of more resources, both financially and otherwise. The goal is to be a big influencer because I know how much I have to give given my creativity and partnering with brands would further that goal. There are so many brands I love and being partnered with them would truly be such an accomplishment and blessing.
