Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Audrey @audreydoran

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am mainly modeling now, I have been with my agency for three years. I have also been coaching gymnastics on the side for about two and a half years. I live in Texas, born and raised! I really enjoy drawing, photography, music, and walking around barefoot. Haha.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest have mainly been my attempt at marketing myself! Which I am somewhat terrible at. Haha, I typically post the latest photo from my work, or something I’ve edited (collages, nature, etc.) I also post photos of my animals, I used to post the song covers I’d done, and time lapses of my mandala drawings, but it has been awhile since I have posted those! If I am hooking up with any brands, I will post about those too. It is always good, honest feedback!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram handle is ‘audreydoran’ Audrey is my first name, Doran is my middle name. (:

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I really enjoy VSCO. They’ve got amazing filters, and a great community with awesome people who produce awesome photos. I also enjoy tiling out my photo display with Squaready (SquareadyV for videos) For collages, and really weird layering, the Union app is perfect, it is probably my latest obsession to be honest. If you ever need to blend a background/clone anything, Filterstorm is great, typically more technical than most. Also, the Matter app is really fun to play around with. Combining both the Matter, and Union apps has been really challenging and fun lately.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I thoroughly enjoy Kindra Nikole (@kindranikole), her page covers three of my favorite things, “fantasy, forests, and photos” these photos are absolutely breathtaking, each one pulling you into an ethereal fantasy world. I wish I could connect with more photographers that had that type of potential. If I was able, I would take her influence as literally as I could, and cover my page (life) with it. Haha.
I also follow some small boutiques, companies that produce organic products, and other photographers. I really enjoy supporting small businessses.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Pertaining to instagram, I would suggest to not care so much whether your followers will like what you are posting, don’t overthink it, and just post it. If they don’t like it, that’s their loss. If they do, great! Your page will attract followers because of its uniqueness. Also, branch out! Take a picture and change it if you want, stitch it together with some other photo, play around with your apps, it’s really fun.

As far as activities go, go cave diving! It is a really beautiful experience. Go outside and do things! Rock climb, kayak, go hiking, challenge your comfort zones, branch out.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part is probably being able to connect with people and pages that I would otherwise never have the chance to. Each page is different, each person has something different to offer, and I love that. Also, I enjoy having the ability to network, and show people parts of myself.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I would suggest to maintain consistency. Also, don’t pressure yourself too much to post what you think others will like. Keep it original, keep it genuine, it will keep it unique and different. Pick a campaign that works for you, not something that you’ll have to force or change for.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Original content is quality. I would suggest to not allow your fear/insecurity (we’ve all felt it before) of whether or not your post will be considered quality by someone else, but instead realize that your post is quality because it is original.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Getting to try something new! I am also a huge fan of being able to share these things with other people. I am always searching for something new, and once I find something, I do my best to promote that thing to others who would benefit from it. So it’s absolutely incredible to have opportunities to partner with brands directly.
