Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Alexa J Lepisto @alexajade__

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi there! My name is Alexa Jade, and I’m from Portland, OR. I’m currently work in social media at a tech company called Digital Trends. I’m also a part time photographer – shooting subjects varying from portraits to live music to engagements.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I’m keen on traveling and spending time in new places. I’m also constantly working on new photography projects(especially portraits), and that work is my favorite content to post on Instagram.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is what I go by as an artist, and it’s also my real first and middle name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

If it’s an iPhone image, I use VSCO about 95% of the time – even if it’s just changing something small like contrast or brightness.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I have several photographers I look up to. For portraits, I love Ryan Plett, Aaron Feaver, Bliss Katherine, and Neil Krug to name a few. I’m really interested in music photography, and love the work of Saamaul Richard, Zella Day, and Matty Vogel.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Helping people be more aware of products out there, and being able to share products I love with others!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Be yourself. It sounds super cliche, but I’ve found that following my own artist eye and style, and staying true to that style feels the most authentic.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I feel like people respond best to original content and quality imagery. People are more likely to be interested in what you’re trying to say when the image is quality, and what you’re saying is honest or authentic.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

People can see real people that love certain products and why. It feels more raw than seeing an advertisement to buy something – it feels more relatable when you see a real person enjoying a product.
